Vel & Dino of The Smoogies & Friends. The Smoogies are a South Florida-based quartet known for its genre-blending sound, rooted in jazz, soul, and global influences. Led by Vaughn "V.KEYS" Henry (keys/vocals), Dion Kerr (bass), Harvel Nakundi (drums/percussion), and David Chiverton (drums), the group has performed with artists like Lauryn Hill, Snarky Puppy, and Kirk Franklin.
The Alfonso Velasco Trio
Sunday, March 23rd
Alfonso is a Florida-based drummer, composer, and multi-instrumentalist. As a composer, some of Alfonso’s main influences are John Coltrane, Wayne Shorter, and Miles Davis. As a solo artist, he released a drumless track record titled "Nebulla" and a single titled "Nova" in 2022. His group, VISIONS, blends jazz, hip-hop, funk, and Latin influences to create a genre-defying sound.
